The Best Five Restaurants in Oakville That Every Foodie Needs to Try!

Hi Prepsters,

As many of you know I grew up in Oakville, which is a small suburban town located west of Toronto. I wanted to do a series dedicated to showcasing this beautiful town, and after asking on Instagram, the number one thing you guys wanted to read about were the best places to eat in Oakville.

Casual Dining

Stoney's Bread Company is often referred to as the best place in Oakville to eat by almost all the locals. It's casual dining experience is charming, and the atmosphere is warm. Everything that I have tried off the menu has been beyond delicious; whether its the pastas, pizzas, or the sandwiches (the  slow roasted lamb sandwich will change your life). Stoney's was also featured on the Food Network show "You Gotta Eat Here", and just like the title suggests, its something you need to do!

Fine Dining

Buca di Bacco is a small restaurant that packs a mean flavour punch when it comes to its Italian cuisines. The restaurant is cozy and the service has been incredible for each one of my visits. Everything is freshly made with the best ingredients, which is definitely something you will be able to taste as you are transported to Italy with every bite. I have sampled most of their pastas and pizzas, and have yet to be anything short of delighted!

Tapas

Plank Restobar is located in the west end of Oakville, and offers some of the most interesting takes on classic tapas dishes. Plank has a good selection of shareable but small plates, making it a perfect spot to visit with your friends. The eclectic menu has familiar flavours with a surprise twist, making it a foodie hotspot. If you do decide to head over to Plank, be sure to try the Cauliflower Fritters served with garlic aioli, which are a guaranteed crowd pleaser.

Dessert

La Dolce Vita

La Dolce Vita is one of the best gelato shops in the Toronto region; with its innovative flavours, and focus on quality, you will never be disappointed. Over the past summer, I found myself going in once a week to try all the amazing flavour creations ranging from black charcoal vanilla, Nutella, Ferrero Rocher, and even Red Bull (which by the way, was amazing). La Dolce Vita is definitely a local favourite, and if you're in Oakville and in the mood for something sweet, you must try it out.

Cafe

Tribeca Coffee Co. is located in the heart of downtown Oakville, and boasts some of the best speciality drinks. Apart from Tribeca's amazing options of beverages, they also have some of the finest baked goods, and sandwiches. With its private rooms, Tribeca is also a great place for meetings and studying. They also carry a good range of gluten free options for customers with allergies/sensitivites. One of the best things I've tried at Tribeca has been their Caramel Brûlée latte (which actually had a brûléed sugar top) along with their s'more cookie which was absolutely heavenly.
