Denim on Denim
Hi Prepsters,
I'm sorry I've been away for the past two weeks. I just had a lot going on in my personal life, and you will be seeing a lot more of me now. This look is the one I last posted on Instagram, and is my take of the Canadian Tuxedo, which, for all of you reading this post outside of Canada, means that I wore a head-to-toe denim look.
This denim jacket has become one of my all time favourites just because of the fit. I got it from maurices (size 1X), and I love the slight stretch in the material, which makes it easy to move in. The jacket also has adjustable buttons on the back if you wanted to loosen or tighten it around your waist.
The jeans (size 33) I'm wearing are from Reitmans, and slight contrast from the colour of the denim jacket, makes these jeans very interesting. The jeans are a skinny fit, with a slightly frayed ankle-length hem. They also have a little bit of stretch, but don't lose their shape. (Generally, jeans with 2% spandex or less, give enough room to hug your curves but don't stretch out over time. )
For my jewelry I kept a more simple approach because the outfit is such a statement. I wore a ring that I had bought in a set from maurices as well. (click here for a similar set) The purse I bought from Zara, and I accessorized it with a silk scarf with a blue and red print to tie the look together.
These denim block-heels are from Joe Fresh. As you probably can tell, I have a slight obsession with the block heels from there because they are so darn comfortable to walk around in. (They straps also fit my ankles which is a bonus)
Sunglasses are a must have accessory, and I love the ones from Serengetti. If you haven't tried them, you need to because they actually change how you see thing (it literally feels like I have HD vision when wearing them). The colour is automatically adjusted by the lenses, and the lenses also absorb all UV light which protects your eyes.
I hope you guys enjoyed this look as much as I loved wearing it. TGIF!
