Exploring Montreal Day 1
Hi Prepsters,
After an amazing past few days in Montreal, I wanted to share my trip with you.
This trip was for National Best Friends Day, which was on June 8th, 2017. It also happened to be my brother’s first time heading to Montreal, but I knew he was going to love the city.
When I had first gone there, I honestly didn’t want to leave. Montreal has an approachable European vibe; the city is full of history, art, great food, and the kindest people. Once you’re there, the cities charm envelops you.
We had the pleasure of driving to Montreal in the 2017 Ford Fusion Energi. This car was exceedingly comfortable, easy to drive, and has a built in navigation system. One of the biggest perks of this hybrid car was that with a full charge, and a full tank of gas, the car could do almost 1000 kilometers. I was also blown away by the technology in this car, ranging from automatic wipers, to the system that converts your energy when you’re braking, into reusable charge for the car battery.
We left nice and early from our little town of Oakville, and six hours later, we arrived at L’hôtel Le Germain Montréal. The hotel is beautiful, and located in a very central part of the city, making it a great place to stay if you are wanting to explore.
After arriving, we decided to have a quick nap, and then get dressed for our photo shoot followed by dinner at the Montreal hotspot called Suwu. This place gives major Peter Pan vibes with the jar lighting and abundance of plants. If you do end up going, you guys need to try the Crispy Cauliflower, and Fried Boccocini. (You can thank me later)
For my outfit, I wanted to wear something that was both comfortable to drive in, and still looked chic. So before my trip, I headed over to Joe Fresh, and picked up these fabulous pieces;
My top is a navy blue shade, and extremely light and breathable on. The tie knot adds a little bit of fun to this summer essential piece. I love that the top has sleeves, and that the gathering created by the top is very forgiving on.
The pants are light and airy which makes them perfect for the summer. The vertical stripes both elongate your legs, and look great with the same coloured top. They have an elastic waist band which makes them comfortable for those who spend a long time sitting.
The mustard tones suede sandals add a little bit of “spice” to the outfit, but at the same time do not draw too much attention. They were extremely comfortable one, and the block heel was perfect for the brick and cobblestone roads in Montreal.
I absolutely adore these elephant earring studs .They add an element of fun to the outfit yet they aren't very loud. The blue and silver bracelet set tie the silver earrings and the blue tones of the outfit together, and look nice, especially with a short sleeve top.
Hope you guys are having a fabulous week, day two of Montreal will be up soon.
