The Google Pixel 3XL Review
Hi Prepsters
Google is about to officially release the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL on November 1st, 2018 in Canada. I was lucky enough to be gifted one to test out before it hits the market, so I thought I would do a review of the phone. This, as the title suggests, is Google’s third phone released under the Pixel family, and in my opinion the Pixel 3 is by far superior than the Pixel, and Pixel 2. The Pixel 3XL comes in three colours (Just Black, Clearly White, and Not Pink), and retails for $1129 CAD (64GB), $1259 (128 GB).
The Camera
One of the best features of the Pixel 3 is its camera. The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL still retained the 12 megapixel single camera setup at the rear but added new photography features, as well as a second wide-angle selfie camera. Some of the other camera features include:
Top Shot - automatically picks the best shots
Night Sight - improves low light performance with no flash
Group Selfie Cam - second front camera which allows for a wide angle shot
Google Lens - recognizes objects and things seen on the Pixel 3's and Pixel 3 XL's camera

The Battery Life
The battery life for the Pixel 3 is another fabulous feature. With one charge, the battery can last the entire day. As with most Android phones, there is also a battery saver mode in case you need to extend the life the charge. If you use your phone the entire day, you might require a top up charge in the evenings, but in comparison to other phones in the market, the Pixel 3 XL has surpassed most of my expectations.
The Screen
The Google Pixel 3 XL mobile features a 6.3" (16 cm) display with a screen resolution of 1440 x 2960 pixels and runs on Android v9.0 (Pie) operating system. The screen is bright, and captures details like never before. The colours are more vibrant, and showcase higher quality images, videos, and apps than any of the previous Pixel phones.
Accessories
The Pixel 3 also has wireless charging capabilities, and you can purchase the Google Pixel Stand, which is a charging dock. There are some other really great features for the stand (especially for those who use their phones as an alarm clock).
In the mornings, before your alarm goes off, your Pixel 3’s screen will display ambient lighting to mimic the sun. You can also personalize your phone so that you get can get your morning schedule, traffic, weather, news, and much more shared with you right after you wake up.
In the few weeks I’ve had my phone, I’ve absolutely loved it. I find myself taking a lot more pictures, and constantly using the Google Lens feature.
