Toronto Men's Fashion Week: Day 1

Hi Prepsters,

I thought I would give you a look into my first outfit at fashion week. The fast-paced, glamorous event was a whirlwind, especially for a rookie like myself.

I wore a matching skirt and top with a loud geometric pattern on it. The specific reason I decided to do this was because someone had told me a few days earlier that “big girls shouldn’t wear busy patterns.”

I disagreed, and here is how I proved it.

The top and skirt are by Jules and Leopold, and I had found them at Winners. I thought the pattern was fun, and loved the colour combination of the print.

The Blazer is from RW&Co, and I decided to drape it over my shoulders to add a little bit of sass. I also noticed that the "jacket draped over the shoulder" look was a big trend during fashion week.

A similar style is available at Addition Elle.

The shoes I bought are by Chinese Laundry, and they have a fun peep toe that shows off my pedicure. They were springily comfortable, and I wore them all night without getting sore feet. (Signs of a well designed shoe)

There are many similar styles available at DSW Canada, here is another style I could have paired with this outfit

I bought this cute clutch from DSW, and thought it would add a little bit of fun to the otherwise dressy outfit. (It also connected my red lip look to this outfit)

My two standout designers for day one were Hip and Bone, as well as Curtis Oland.

Both designers were innovative, and good representations of what Toronto has to offer to the Fashion Industry.

Keep Tuned for the next look for TOM*FW day 2.
